We offer many services, from routine examinations and vaccinations to extensive diagnostics and treatment, at the Wheatland Animal Hospital:
-
Annual exams, semi-annual exams, vaccinations:
We perform a full examination on any pet receiving vaccinations and adhere to the protocols established by the American Animal Hospital Association.
We treat every animal as an individual, as each animal requires different vaccination and prevention schedules based on exposure levels.
We firmly believe in the value of the oldest diagnostic tools ever available: the client history and the physical exam.
-
In-house bloodwork, fecal, and urinalysis lab:
We have a full line of bloodwork capabilities in-house to allow immediate identification of abnormalities, facilitating prompt treatment.
We also send full diagnostic panels to an outsourced lab with quick turnaround time.
-
Dental Equipment:
The dental health of the animal affects the entire body - besides pain and infection, dental disease may cause or facilitate liver, kidney, heart, or immune disease.
We promote proactive dental care, including at-home maintenance and dental procedures.
We perform dental procedures every weekday, and our dental radiography unit has provided immense value in the diagnosis of periodontal disease.
-
Surgery Suite:
Castrations and spays, abdominal surgery, growth removals, orthopedic surgery - we take pride not only in the quality of our surgical care, but the management as well.
All surgical patients receive intravenous fluids and the most updated pain protocols, including pre-emptive analgesia and a variety of post-operative plans.
Our well-trained technicians with anesthetic expertise are an important part of our surgical team.
All patients are monitored extensively during each anesthetic precedure.
In addition to technician monitoring of hydration status, heart rates, breathing quality, and anesthetic depth, our machinery monitors temperature, blood pressure, EKG, and carbon dioxide status, all interpreted by the staff.
-
Radiography:
X-Ray on site performed by experienced assistants and interpreted by the veterinarian.
-
Ultrasound:
This is a modality which is used quite commonly these days in this profession.
Ultrasound identifies a multitude of conditions which X-Ray does not detect, allowing earlier and more accurate diagnosis and better prognosis.
It is by no means a replacement for X-Rays, rather a great compliment.
-
Endoscopy:
Upper and lower gastrointestinal diagnostic studies and foreign body retrieval, allowing us to avoid surgery oftentimes.
-
